eChalk Set up instructions
The PTSA serves as a vital communication link between parents and Edgemont HS. Much communication is achieved through the use of the eChalk system. The PTSA encourages all parents to activate their eChalk accounts so that they will always have the most current information about their student’s school and classes.
Neither the public site accessed by ehs.edgemont.org alone nor your child’s eChalk
account allows you to receive important emails and targeted parent information. If you
do not receive emails from school administrators or the PTSA then you HAVE NOT ACTIVATED your parent account. Once you activate your Parent eChalk account you will be able to forward your eChalk emails to as many personal email addresses as you would like. It only takes a few minutes!
Detailed eChalk sign on instructions are available in the “Parent” folder of the public HS eChalk site ehs.edgemont.org however the simple steps below will allow you to activate your account to utilize its full potential.
Helpful hints for activating your eChalk account and forwarding emails:
1. Go to the Edgemont Junior Senior HS webpage ehs.edgemont.org.
2. Each family receives one account. Please type in your username (first initial of the parent’s first name that comes first in the alphabet followed immediately by your full last name) and enter the temporary password welcome. Then press Enter (or click on the Login button with your mouse.)
3. Follow instructions and you will be guided through the Acceptable Use Policy page, Password change screen and Welcome page.
To forward Your eChalk Email to Your Personal/Work Email Account
As you probably know, your family eChalk account includes an email address. Most parents don’t want another email account to check and manage each day. Yet teachers, administrators, the PTSA, and staff send out blast emails using parents’ eChalk address. The solution? Tell eChalk to forward all incoming email messages to your home and/or work account. Here’s how:
1. Log in to eChalk with your username and password.
2. Click the My Email button.
3. Click the Options button underneath “My Email”
4. Open the Forward/Reply tab by clicking on + on the right; Click on Add – a new box will open.
5. Enter your personal e-mail address(es) in the box and click Add
6. Uncheck the box below so that forwarded emails do not remain in mailbox and fill it up. There is a limited storage space.
8. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page.
Remember to update your forwarding email if your email address changes and (unless you unchecked the "save a copy of this email in my inbox") please remember to delete old messages so your inbox does not get full.
