Edgemont Arts Committee (formerly ACE)

The Arts Committee is dedicated to the enrichment of music, visual, and performing arts at the Jr/Sr High School. Our mission is to enhance and support the arts in every Edgemont discipline through programming, raising awareness of the importance of the arts in school, advocating for new and expanded opportunities in art, music, and theater, and providing financial support for arts-related academic and extracurricular programs.

This support may include visiting artists and speakers, special programming, materials and equipment for classroom activities, new clubs, outside consultants, grade-wide assemblies, and performances. In the past, the committee has funded master classes, supplemented field trips, and purchased musical instruments, cameras, and digital arts equipment. We also contribute creative hours behind the scenes for the High School Drama and Musical, the Junior High Musical, and events such as the High School Arts Admissions program.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Committee

The STEM Committee is dedicated to enriching education in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math at EHS. We advocate for STEM opportunities for our students, and provide financial support for STEM-related academic and extracurricular programs. Initiatives and projects may include visiting scientists, technologists, special educational programs, materials and equipment for non-classroom activities, new clubs, outside consultants, or grade-wide field trips. STEM partners with faculty, students, and parents to support clubs, organize competitions as well as our popular STEM career night, and purchase classroom equipment, such as PCR lab equipment to perform CRISPR gene editing.
